ABSA Corporate Advisory was formed in 1995 by Simon Maughan Wright to provide independent strategic advice to mid-market companies on mergers and acquisitions, divestments, real estate and corporate finance.
The firm’s principal has had extensive Australia wide experience over 35 years in corporate finance including mergers and acquisitions including divestments and transformations across a broad range of industries, real estate development and asset management. His work has taken him to South East Asia including China, Europe, UK, USA and the Middle East.

The firm’s principal is qualified in Law with an MBA. He has served as a director on numerous NFP and private company boards, a listed company board, chaired several boards and board committees and is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. He is an innovator having developed numerous financial forms and models including the master lease, the lease in escrow, the first debt purchases in Australia, a put option take out property financing model and an entertainment finance model.
He has provided pro bono financial and strategic advice to several community, health, church and childcare groups and served on several such boards.
